#2367 BOBOLINK, wallmount
An excellent Pocketknife rendition of the male Bobolink.
The Bobolink is famous for his bubbly song, so, this carving shows the Bobolink in his characteristic singing posture, with beak open, wings and tail partially spread, and back slightly arched.
Pointy tail feathers and fluffy "bonnet" require a higher level of carving skill than the average songbird.
Note the unusally shaped and outlined greater wing coverts, too.
All in all, this species was more difficult to capture with knife and brush than I had expected, but he has turned out beautifully.
