A picture in a birding magazine inspired me to carve this fairly unknown songbird. A denizen of brushy northern tundra, this species is only found - in North America - along the northern coast of Alaska, though he is a much more common resident of northern Europe and Asia.
The unending variety of color and pattern in birds fascinates me. And I love the beautiful combinations of colors The Master Creator uses on His palette.
This carving is mounted for the wall on an attractive piece of driftwood.
It is numbered, signed, and dated on the underside of the base.
