#2621 EVENING GROSBEAK & SUNFLOWER SEED
As a teen, I used to see great flocks of Evening Grosbeaks at our bird feeders, when I lived in Canada. I haven't seen one, since then, but the desire to carve them has stayed with me all these years. Now that desire is realized!
This is a life-sized, pocketknife rendition of this beautiful and gregarious species. I carved it in a somewhat alert pose, with its head turned slightly to the right.
This particular bird is mounted for the table or shelf on an attractive piece of Adirondack driftwood.
Numbered, signed by the artist, and dated on the back of the base.
