OTHER CARVERS
BOB SPEAR
To see what I think could qualify as the eighth wonder of the world, you won't want to miss a visit to Mr. Bob Spear's "Birds of Vermont Museum" in Huntington, VT.
You will see 499 different bird species hand-carved by Mr. Spear and displayed in their natural habitats. The humble and personable Mr. Spear passed away in 2017 at 92 years of age. When I met him in 2016, he was working on carving #500, a Canada Goose.
I took this photo of Bob Spear in front of some of his display cases (all made by him, too, incidentally!).
This would be an excellent family outing. Museum hours are Daily 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., May 1 through October 31. Admission is $6 adults, $5 seniors, $3 children, $15 family.

PAUL CASSON
It was my great privilege to meet Paul Casson, recently. This 90 yr. old gentleman [at the time of this writing; now, sadly, deceased] is amazing for the quality and quantity and variety of his artwork. He is an authority on duck decoys - of all kinds and descriptions. As an artist, he is a woodcarver and an oil painter, with a great long list of carvings and paintings to his credit. Below are just a few photos of Paul and his excellent artwork.
